This Refund & Return Policy explains how refunds are handled in connection with Pacept (the "Services"). Pacept is a payments platform that enables businesses ("merchants") to collect payments from their customers. It is important to understand the distinction between the two relationships below.
1. Payments to merchants
When you pay a merchant through a Pacept checkout or payment link, your purchase is a transaction between you and that merchant. Pacept facilitates the payment but is not the seller of the goods or services. Any refund or return for a purchase is governed by the merchant's own refund and return policy.
Requesting a refund for a purchase
- Contact the merchant you paid directly, quoting your payment reference.
- The merchant reviews the request under their policy and applicable consumer-protection law.
- Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method; timing depends on your bank or card issuer.
2. Merchant subscription & platform fees
Fees you pay to Pacept as a merchant for use of the platform (for example, transaction or subscription fees) are generally non-refundable once the corresponding service has been provided, except where required by law or expressly stated in your agreement with us. If you believe a fee was charged in error, contact us within 30 days and we will investigate.
3. Chargebacks & disputes
If a customer disputes a payment with their bank or card issuer, the dispute is handled in line with the relevant card-network or banking rules. Merchants are responsible for providing evidence to support legitimate transactions and for any resulting reversals or fees.
4. Duplicate or failed transactions
If a payment fails but you were charged, or you were charged more than once for the same order, funds are typically reversed automatically by the banking system. If a discrepancy persists, contact the merchant or reach out to us and we will help investigate.
